With the London Olympics a distant memory (sadly), many Britons are using the lull in the UK's summer calendar as an opportunity to head overseas.
According to finance expert Mark Bower, this has been further compounded by the lack of guaranteed sunshine and the favourable rates on foreign currency.
"The wet weather, combined with the best exchange rate for pounds to euros seen in years, has sent Brits flying. Whilst millions are expected to head on holiday abroad this year on cheap holidays, they can ensure they are protected by adequate insurance," he said.
According to recent statistics, around 13 million Britons do not have insurance for their travel, and a significant proportion of this group don?t intend to buy any at all.
However, having financial protection in place is an absolute essential that gives you peace of mind and covers you against the possibility of a worst case scenario.
If you should fall ill, get injured or experience having your possessions broken or stolen, a lack of insurance could result in hefty costs.
